Poll question: How much of the time do you smile/ are you smiling?
We've probably beaten to death the subject of how much more depressed we've all been since November/December 2000, and again since 11/04, but if it makes you feel better to talk about it, by all means mention in a reply whether you're smiling markedly less in the last few months or years, and what relation it might have with the Not Particularly Great Pretender.

Me, I'm chimped as hell. Starting to work out how to laugh again, but that's just because Alice is so wonderful.

5. One of my nicknames in high school was 'smile'
because it rhymes with kyle, and I'm an insufferable optimist. So I voted for the umbrella one. :D

6. Can't decide how to vote myself, so I'll just kick again
I may actually fit best under Varies widely, as I seem to smile a lot around people but very little when alone. Conversely, sometimes when my sense of humor's working, it's more the other way around. Go figure. As total depressives go, I'm a pretty smily fella.:D See?

7. Happy happy, joy joy
I'm generally very happy, but not in some ghastly saccharine manner (I hope); and tempered with a lot of bitchyness.

O.T.O.H. I don't have four more years ahead of me, though the reign of Emperor Blair still appears to stretch out into the far future.

9. I may not be very happy, these days, but I learned, over the years,
especially when I was very sick, if you can't maintain a sense of humor, then you've lost everything. This is the most important thing and you have to hang on to it, come hell or high water, unbearable lost elections and horrific tsunamis!

11. I vary wildly
Call me neutral, tending to smiling if there's no reason to do otherwise, tempered with smiling takes less effort than a frown, with a dash of I have a job that shows me a downside to people.
