115-pound girl eats 11-pound monster
There are some records that may never be broken. Marino’s career passing yardage mark. Cal Ripken’s consecutive games streak. Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points in a single game.

Then there are records we thought would never be set, the kind of gargantuan feats better suited to science fiction than reality. Daring to dream about these records is almost as audacious as trying to set them. And last week, one of them was shattered.

Kate Stelnick, a petite college student weighing in at 115 pounds, took the Denny’s Beer Barrel challenge on Wednesday. They almost laughed her out of the restaurant when she placed her order. Turns out she was the one laughing (and burping) on the way out.

No one had ever beaten Denny’s challenge. (See related Foodmarket story) No one had even come close. The requirements were absurdly outrageous: to eat 11 pounds of burger in under three hours, you’d have to be crazy, with an iron stomach and a mouth to match.

4. How come earlier stories state it was a 6-lb burger??

Prediction, something about this story isn't quite right. The photos on the OP story just look staged or maybe even photoshopped.

On edit: Snopes says its true. Its still fishy that "foodmarket.com" (whatever that is) has almost doubled the size of the burger. Things that make you go hmmmmm....

5. 6 lbs. of beef. With the bun and tomato and lettuce and what not
it ends up being 11 lbs. This story is too funny! It is good to have goals.

6. Thought about that too
But maybe they added all the side items up and included that in the weight to make a more attention grabbing headline.

16. There's some discrepancy as to the young woman's weight also.
One story has her at 115, another at 100. Either way, she's small, but maybe it sounds more sensational to say she's 100 lbs.

7. Very impressive
I'm going to try and finish a Monster Thickburger sometime, and that's only 2/3 of a pound.

14. I view it more as a link to our ancient past...
the hunters and gatherers ate up when they could because they never knew when the next meal might be...

that gal has survival skills....

20. "I like mine with lettuce and tomato...
...Heinz 57 and french-fried potatoes, a big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer. Good God Almighty, which way do I steer for my cheeseburger in paradise?"

Wonder if I could eat that thing in three hours.
