I am so fed up!
It seems like all I do is argue anymore. My parents, most of my friends and acquaintences all support *. I am tired of being told I don't support my country, the troops etc., all becasue * is an idiot and I'm not afraid to say so.

A girl I go to school with and I have become friends. She is a bush supporter, and she gets angry if anything having to do with politics comes up. I was talking to her online tonght and mentioned Kenney chesney singing for * and she flipped out, told me to get over it, she's against abortion and she supports the war, blah blah blah.

Now we are having a pissing match that I know is probably going to end in the end of a new friendship. She doesn't know ANYTHING about politics, she doesn't even have a TV. When there are no politics involved, we get along great. This is getting ugly and I am so damned tired of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. I made the mistake of mentioning to my boss today
(total freeper) that I was going to wear protest bracelets tomorrow and put my Kerry-Edwards signs back out in my yard - he said "well, that's the beauty of America, you can enjoy your freedom of speech" (As if * himself personally granted it to me - whatever) Then he mentioned that his sister had put a W sticker in his car window.... He took it out b/c he's a "Salesman" sort and can't really offend anyone that may be a "Customer" type - anyway His sister was on food stamps and WIC - I can understand this guy raking in $120k plus a year being a freeper and enjoying his tax cut (he's really selfish) - but his sister - wtf????? I wanted to counter, but wasn't ready to piss my boss off by saying something about his family. I wasn't in a place where I could put it real gentle either. instead, I just e-mailed a friend who is like minded.

2. "she doesn't know anything about politics"
seems to be rampant among * supporters.

4. Honest to god.
She doesn't have a TV, doesn't read a paper, nothing. She is against abortion so she supports *.

She actually said to me tonight, abortion is wrong. I support my president and I support this war. When I pointed out the hypocrisy of that, she said "I don't remember any babies bombing the shit out of us". I told her I didn't remember any Iraqis bombing the shit out of us, and she said "9-11-01, ring any bells??"

This is what we are dealing with????? :argh:

5. I know I don't.
However, that's how people here are. Most people support *. I won't have any friends at all at this rate.

7. Hahaha, I love it!
It is just so damned ridiculous. She told me, I am going to reboot my computer and I hope you will drop this by the time I come back. I told her "fine, it's your karma."

Her response?
"I don't believe in karma." :eyes:

9. I don't want to attack, but
she kinda sounds like a witch. Are you sure she is a friend? I had one freeper friend that right after he election called and started to make jokes - I couldn't contain myself, I started crying (a little dramatic, but I felt all hope was lost - I was seriously going through the stages of grief) and had to end the conversation. He was very shaken and sent me a very apologetic e-mail saying that he was very sorry and knows that I care for my Country a great deal and thinks the world of me etc. etc. etc. We try to avoid any political discussion now. I feel you tho - I've been struggling with my relationships with freeper friends and family.

11. I just found out that I girl I work with
and really like is a repuke. It's soooooo weird because I'm a designer and all the designers in my office are really artistic and really liberal except for my boss and now this one woman. It's blowing my mind because she's really cool and artistic. She named her son after an artist and is really into organic food and holistic health. How does someone like that support BushCo? It makes no sense to me at all. And, I have to admit, as much as I liked her before (and her husband, and her gorgeous baby), I think a little less of her now. I hate to admit it but it's true. There is just no excuse for supporting BushCo anymore. As far as I'm concerned it's like being a Nazi. It makes me so sad. I feel like she's been taken over by the dark side.

13. It's kind of hard not to!
Like I said, this girl and I really get along great. I just can't get past the fact that she is in love with *. It makes my stomach turn, even more so b/c she is clueless about what's going on in the world. Now, I have to see her in class Friday and it is going to be so awkward.

I will not apologize, I have no reason to.

16. I think I surpassed fed up a long time ago...
my mom is the ultimate * supporter. I said something about him spending what he's spending on the inaguration, and she flipped. I said, "Mom, soldiers don't have ammo or flack jackets, but he can have a $139 MILLION PARTY!? WTF?"
She was so pissed off when I said that, but all she could think of was, "Every president gets an inaguration ball. Your buddy Bill got one for his second term."
"Yeah, Mom, but he didn't have soldiers dying in another country because they don't have ammo and stuff."
She just rolled her eyes and shut up.
I honestly have just given up. I keep my mouth shut most of the time when people are just talking up their conservative bullshit. I hate it that I have to do that, but it's better than fighting I guess. I'm just sick of it all.
