Does anyone have a profile at MySpace?
What do you think of it? A friend directed me there, and I'm glad I signed up because I got in touch with a really great old friend of mine by doing so, but other than that, I'm thus far nonplussed.

Impressions?

1. I reconnected with one or two friends from long ago
so I'd say it was worth it, but having to reject all of the friend requests from bands is annoying

this is me:

3. I just asked you for an add.
:)

I noticed that about the bands. I guess I won't feel bad about just rejecting.

Thanks.

4. My daughter & son & most of their friends do
And it's also a place new bands use to get exposure, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since they won't get it on mainstream radio. My daughter knows a band who booked an entire tour through contacts made on myspace.

They've built up quite a network of friends on there, and they really like it.

It's more geared to young people, though I know some of my daughter's friends are in their 30's, so I think it goes beyond high school.

5. I have one.
But I must confess, I find myself using linkedin.com a lot more. I think that shows that I'm getting old or something. Linkedin.com is a similar concept but everyone uses their real names and it's an actual professional networking and jobhunting site. Wouldja believe, Simon Rosenberg's in my personal network? Ok, he's like five steps away, but still.
