Who's the Master in your home? You or your pets?
It isn't even close in my case--my cats own everything--they even own me, and they know it.

Letting your pets think they are in charge is a recipe for disaster...and makes for, in the case of dogs, at least, unhappy pets.

7. I think cats are very different in that respect, summed up by an Egyptian
saying (very ancient) and I can only paraphrase: "The cat owns whatever is within its eyesight."

12. Neither... It's the pet's owner..
I have a former co-worker as a room mate. She has two cats and a lab/rott mix dog. I own the house, but for some reason, it's possible to rationalize any situation to make it my fault.

As an example, I'm not supposed to be angry because she rearranged the connecting cables on my entertainment system because I hardly ever watch that TV and it was the only way she could get a DVD to play. Doesn't matter that all she had to do was push Video on the main remote and put a DVD in, randomly moving cables worked and it's my fault.

15. You be the judge
I have a bad cold and wanted to sleep in this morning but precisely at 8:00 am Amos started whining for his morning treat of baby food as he does every morning at precisely 8:00 am if he hasn't gotten it already. Well let me tell you, he didn't get his treat till at least 8:15! I am the master around here!

18. I'm glad you started this thread. Our precious cat has been
waking us up all during the night for attention. She does this when it's too cold for her to go out. There's a period of around 2 months where we live that the temperature is so frigid that she will not go outside for more than a minute or two, and to offset her having to stay inside so much, she craves the extra attention in the middle of the night. Once warm weather comes, she's okay because she exspends her energy outside hunting, but for right now, she's driving us nuts! Scritch scritch scritch!!!

21. The cat hordes (TM) run absolutely everything.
Edited on Sun Jan-23-05 11:56 AM by kedrys
Dogs have owners, cats have staff. Of course, the s.o. and I are outnumbered 5 to 2.

There's the one that has to sleep on my feet, the one that has to have a bit of my breakfast, the one that begs for chicken (roasted, not the canned stuff), the one that wants to be next to you but not be petted or scratched, and the one who currently holds the talking stick and won't shut up.

And THEN there's the outdoor cats. :D

22. Ongoing struggle of wills
between dog and humans. A friendly struggle, mind you, but still a struggle. This struggle is most evident in hashing out bed arrangements for the night.
