Poll question: Hubert Sumlin or Muddy Waters?
Best electric Chicago blues guitarist?

No way can you make me decide. I would have to make room for Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, and a few dozen more as well.

10. Hubert made a great appearance at Clapton's Guitar Festival
last summer. I just got it on DVD. Personally, I am partial to Buddy Guy (saw him at the Orlando House of Blues last summer), but it really is hard to choose.

But this really isn't a good poll. Muddy was a band leader, singer as well as a fine slide guitar player. But Herbert man - the riff in smokestack lightn' gives you chills - and if you're gonna talk about best electric guitarist - you need to mention Buddy Buy and Otis Rush.

I did mention Buddy Guy.

And I also admitted it's not a good poll (it's DU, a "good poll" is whatever one wants it to be), but rather an excuse to name as many great Chicago blues guitarists as possible. :-)
