I got new roses!
My landscaper put in three tree-roses next to my patio.

Oddly, one is named Helmut Schmidt:




Then a double-delight:




And finally, an Ingrid Bergman:

5. I love 'em, too
I walked around my neighborhood a number of times with the landscaper finding things I liked. Somebody had the double-delight and I fell in love with it - it also smells gorgeous. So now I have one. Whee!

6. You will have to give me growing tips. I bought a beautiful rose bush
a few years ago for him and proceeded to kill it. :( Not very garden good here.

roses aren't too hard. My biggest problem is black-spot, but a regular fungicide seems to work.

The one trick is to prune 'em WAY back in late fall. I mean, really hack 'em down good. They grow back.

7. Double Delight is one of my favorites!
In the spring and fall, when it's cooler here, the blooms are almost white with a berry colored edging. Beautiful! The scent on that one is amazing, too!
