20. Oooooo! Do you have a claymore?
Nothing like cleaving Englishman in twain with a huge sword to brighten up your Sunday.

22. LOL! No I don't but I've seen the genuine article
in museums and castles. Claymores are seriously large, designed for swinging, rather than stabbing. They needed considerable strength to use apparently.

4. Fellow Celt here. Never worn a kilt, though.
'Celt' is so much easier to say than 'Anglo-Welsh-Scots-Irish-Franco-American'! B-)

10. Oddly enough, our population is declining
must be the cold weather and the lack of knickers under the kilt... I wear boxer shorts under mine but I know many men who wear zilch... "Donald where's yir troosers?"

I'm older than Ewan but I was educated in Edinburgh, where the film "Trainspotting" is set.

slainthe!

A lone piper playing a pibroch (lament) can reduce grown men to tears.

8. My ancestors were lowland Scots..................
and I'd love to have a kilt. But $700US is a bit to much for me to pay for gear at this point.

15. my cousins and uncles play the pipes, I love that music. I am still
bumming over the demise of Silly Wizard. I had a picture somewhere of a Scottish soldier laying a wreath on Memorial day and his kilt blowing up. He had no unders on. Very cute picture.

21. I'm putting on my kilt in about 15 minutes.
Then I'm off to perform Scottish Country Dances at a Burns Night dinner. I'm a little too old to be part of the Highland demo. (And not quite old enough to give up and switch to English :-)
