Most trivial invocation of God's name
I received a note from an ebayer today refunding my $10 and letting me know I wouldn't be getting the yogurt maker I bought. She dropped and broke it as she was packaging it.

She writes, "Perhaps this was God's way of letting us know the plastic lid was brittle from age, and would have broken as soon as you used it."

I'm relieved to know He's up there keeping tabs on things like used yogurt makers. It sure makes me feel better about the way things are going in the world lately....

2. God doesn't like yogurt anyway.
God's a hamburgers and apple pie kind guy, or haven't you read the papers?

3. Yikes.
I'm sure God is very concerned about yogurt makers.

4. She probably got a higher bid via email....
...or her husband said "You are NOT seeling that", so all of a sudden "God" started to work in His mysterious ways.

5. 'Look for a Miracle Every Day'
a fundie coworker once told me, using examples of finding misplaced keys or getting in near-misses on the way to work. I was so gobsmacked I couldn't even come up with a rejoinder - just shook my head and walked away.

6. Do you have rebuttals next time?
Like

Why would God have misplace her keys so she can find them? If God was with her God wouldn't let those keys get misplaced.

What is the point of near misses? God would either keep her totally clear or make sure that she hit something or was hit.

God must have a very special plan for her.

Praying to god...before a high school football game.

If there is a more ridiculous, asinine, invocation of "god"...I surely don't know what is.
