Help Will Pitt Out!
He's stuck in Europe on a book tour and he can't get interested in Manchester United a tenth as much as the Red Sox.

If you're in a position to burn a DVD of the game, I know he'll appreciate it.

I would, but Boston has already played today and I'm not about to miss the Cubs game at Wrigley Field Tuesday.

PM Will for his current address and I'll pay the postage for an overnight package.

1. We-ell, why doesn't Will focus on the Cubs game instead?

Far more interesting.

On edit: No cable, no DVD player, let alone DVD burner.

3. Boston Baked Beans?
He's from the Boston area; I'm not and I'm not giving up my tickets.

Besides, I'm taking another DUer out to enjoy the beer and popcorn.

5. So there I was...
Getting toward the end of the Duran Duran tour. We're playing the Manchester Apollo. 'Round back, by the load-in, there is a delightful wee pub called "The Cottage". Been there a few times. Love the Lemon-Prawn Crisps and the Worcester Sauce potato sticks.

Anyway, being the only "Septic" on the crew, I was getting pretty homesick and it was World Series time. I mentioned, more than once, that I would give my left one to see a game and drink a few cold ones whilst doing so, being a good septic and all.

At the end of the gig, after I was loaded out, Keith, the scottish monitor guy, comes up to me and orders me to follow him. He takes me round the pub. When I get in there and seated, I look up and there is The Series, on the TV. Live(Dish, I guess...). Then, the governor puts down an Ice Cold lager(I mean COLD!), right in front of me. I almost cried. Seems the two sound guys, who were from Manchester(Worked for 10CC) knew the guv and set it all up for me.

*SIGH*...They just didn't have any hot dogs, and Black Pudding just ain't the same.

It meant a lot to me, and I consider myself quite fortunate to have toured with those gentlemen.

7. There's Good People Everywhere
But I can't see myself trading popcorn and a chicago hot-dog for Haggis anywhere.

European Beer on the other hand....

9. I will trade...
A good dog for a Haggis any old time.

Haggis: The Scottish answer to Lutefisk, the piece of cod that passes all understanding. ;-)

8. Duran Duran Tour?!?
Ye Gods! You poor soul! I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy (if I had one). You must be incredibly resilient to survive such an ordeal! Tell us more.

11. Don't knock 'em.
Yeah, getting your clothes ripped off wan no fun(It happened to me, a roadie, and those little fingernails are SHARP!), but the band flat rocked. Andy was a hell of a Rock 'n Roll guitar player and John was one of the nicest, warmest and funniest people I have ever worked for. In fact, I have few, if any, bad memories.

They were fantastic. Really. And I was a flat out rocker, just off working for Humble Pie.

12. Humble Pie?
I was never a roadie nor a dead-head, but I know what I like.

My first concert was the Beatles at Shea Stadium and it got me off a diet of Elvis and polka music that my father favored.

The only thing I've heard that I don't care for is Rap, Disco and "Frere Jacques" played on the bagpipes.
