I alerted the moderators to someone that I felt was making personal attacks in another thread, and said if that individual wasn't "name deleted" due to my belief that the posts were not only inflammatory, but threatening, I would leave. I don't believe it is right for someone to threaten others, and won't stay here if that is allowed.

I know I don't have many posts, but that doesn't make me ignorant.

28. Looks to me like you're both guilty of a PA
(personal attack). Of course, context is all-important, and we don't have that here.

But responding to an attack with another attack is just as much a rules violation as the original attack. Many people here don't seem to get that.

I shouldn't have gotten emotional and responded at all. It only caused a word storm.

I have great respect for many, if not most of the posters on this board. I can't believe how others impart the same importance to events that i do.

This is not a sorry, I don't belong here any more response. I just feel that if the rules are followed, I and others shouldn't have to put up with the shit that was happening earlier.

when many of us feel like a load has been dumped on us, so don't feel alone.

Generally, a thick skin is necessary, and sometimes, unless the flame is overtly threatening, most of us generally accept that some are more vociferous than others.

In any case....rolling a situation from one thread into another, is not really a good idea. Read the rules.

And occasionally, just ignore the thread if you find it offending.

man you have to have hard skin to post on here. i lurked for some time before i signed up, and even on what i thought were innocuous threads i saw people insulted to no end. its a raucous bunch here indeed, and you need to be a little hardened. but threatening posts i agree are not cool at all.
