Post #3000...A DU Thank you!

When I started on DU I felt lost. It seemed, to me at least, that no one wanted to talk to the 'newbie'. For a time I thought about just giving up and chalking it up to experience. I hung in there, though and found out something amazing....

You people are REALLY worth getting to know!

There are too many people to thank individually for all that they've done to make me feel warm and fuzzy and welcome but there are a couple that I would like to say a special thanks to!

Skinner and the rest of the crew: For bringing DU to life in the first place.

Matcom, Catwoman, ZenLefty, GOPisEvil, Underpants: For making a newbie feel a bit less alone and always giving me a smile.

NewYawker99: For letting me know who has reached a landmark and for acknowledging mine.

WillPitt: For not only sometimes challenging me to think differently but for just being named Will.

GregW: For being the keeper of the flame, as it were, and hosting the DU Gallery.

ARWalden: Just because of who you are.

Yes, I know there are SO many more of you that I haven't said, "Thanks" to. At least not in so many words. But know that you all have a profound impact on my life and that my time here has truly been special.

I'm pretty new here and I am so happy I found DU; it is an oasis in a rupuke world. But lately, it seems like so many people are pissed off at each other...and it makes me sad. Thanks for the reminder about why we all came here to begin with.

Not perfect one by any means...well, OK, *I* am but that's not the point.

We have our problems and our disagreements.

In the last couple of weeks I've had...um...spirited discussions about some topics and I disagreed vehemently with some things people have said.

Regardless, they are my family and woe to anyone who tries to screw with them. (Of course, I mean 'screw' in only the broadest of senses...)

I have enjoyed your posts, I am glad you found us and here's to 3000 more!!!

I had originally put your name in there. I worked hard on my original post (well, hard by my standards) trying to get all the people who helped me along since the beginning. I went to post it at the same time the system was being deluged and lost everything I had typed so I had to do it all over again and I know that during the 2nd try I missed some people.

You were one.

And I am sincerely sorry for that. Because your (and your wonderful kitty pictures) always gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling every time I saw them.
