Would I get sued if I do this:
Go out and buy an OLD NAVY shirt with its name on it in big letters.

Buy a pair of Tommy Hillfinger jeans with its big logo on it.

Spraypaint the word "SUCKS" underneath "Old Navy" and write in "is a nazi sweatshop company" over the red/white tommy logo? (Last I read, ol' Tommy deals with sweatshops, but who in the realm of clothing DOESN'T?)

I will not advertise for a company unless I either really like the company (which means it's not a big mainstream corporation) or if I want to slander them using free speech as a just shield.

I know corporate america hates free speech, but could they stop me in this case?

2. I don't think they could do anything about your vandalized clothing
But aren't you contributing to the problem by buying their products in the first place?

3. dont write "sucks" though
think of something more pointed. try to teach somebody something rather than making a high school social statement. educate and spread your activism.

4. No, it is legal. I first saw something like that in 1976
Johnny Rotten wrote "sucks" under "Pink Floyd." I remember seeing a few people on the streets wearing shirts that were inspired by that. I had a friend who always wore Izod shirts with the alligator cut out as a statement ( I don't know how many people ever understood the "statement").

5. Actually, it was an "I Hate" above "Pink Floyd."
Still, no you can't get sued, but make sure you buy the clothing from a thrift store so as not to give those corporations any of your money!
