Jim Plunkett was OVERRATED!

LOOK!..Think about it folks....the media has been very desirous that a quarterback who is the son of blind migrant workers do well..........

because......you see that is the reason he got into the bastion of liberalism that is Stanford University I mean hehe they even let the spawn of the Clinton's in........there was a little hope invested in Plunkett, and he got credit for the performance of his team that he didn't deserve and he won a Heisman trophy.....

6. What did you expect from the Pats in that era?

I mean, really! Ray Berry (a bit later) starts Tony Eason (Mr. I-can-hear-footsteps-50 yds-away, so -time-to-spike-the-ball) over Steve Grogan (who actually won the AFC championship for them) in the Super Bowl. These were not very smart people. Plunkett never had a chance in New England, and was blamed for everything, except perhaps the blizzard of '78. I was glad when he went to the Raiders.

was QB for the other two.

I was just old enough to follow sports in the late '60s/early '70s. It was a running game, but the 3 premier pass/catch combos were:

* Bill Montgomery to Chuck Dicus, Arkansas
* John Reaves to Carlos Alvarez, Florida
* Jim Plunkett to Randy Vataha, Stanford

10. Do you remember the game in which

Vataha volunteered to play on the special teams because there were so many injuries? I don't remember who they were playing, but thought it was very cool of him to do that.

Mostly I remember the great adjustments he made on the deep ball, sometimes looking straight back over his head.
