What car did you own the longest?

I had a 1969 Chevy Nova (two speed automatic torque drive) for 22 years. Was still running like a top but I was afraid I was going to lose a kid through the holes in the floorboard in the back. Spent $400 in repairs during the whole 22 years. Don't make 'em like that anymore.

7. '89 Honda Civic. . .

drove it for 12 years, gave it to my eldest daughter, she's now giving it to her younger sister. This car has better than 170,000 miles, still runs like new, and I only put money in it when I gave it to my daughter -- wanted to assure myself it was safe. I've no doubt it'll last another 100K. And at 40 mpg, it's a GREAT car.

Only two years. I seem to go through cars pretty quickly. Although, my '88 Sentra is approaching the 2-year mark.

4. 1963 Ford Econoline

Old Phone Co. van. No windows, No seats other than the two up front, 144 Cu. In. 6 with 3 on the tree. Slow and totally reliable. Had well over 300.000 miles on it when I sold it to a kid who promptly blew it up. No respect for his elders apparently.

6. 1989 Isuzu pick up

It's my current vehicle and I've owned it since 1996. It runs real goo but it's starting to get rusty. I haven't had to do much to it. The most expensive thing has been some exhaust work.

straight six banger.

It was fairly dependable, but had more rust and holes in it than paint after awhile, so it was retired.

10. My 1989 Toyota Tercel

I bought it brand spanking new in January 1989 and drove it until the summer of 1998. By the time I finally got rid of that Tercel--which was still in running order, by the way--I had put 139,000 miles on it.

11. A 1984 Pontiac Sunbird: 14 years

It was red with chrome trim, grey upholstery, a sunroof and a luggage rack. It suffered a driver's side collision it's first year and a blown gasket the next. As it got older, annoying problems started to appear: a door hinge rusted through, a seat support broke, the muffler kept rusting because the sporty double tailpipes caused condensation during city driving, leaks in the gas tank, radiator, etc. But I changed the oil every 3 months and after 14 years the engine just gave out one day a few miles from my home.

was a nice reliable machine..had a rebuilt angine with just 10,000 km when I bought it..also it was just 2.7 litre engine with a 75 litre tank so it was great for taking into the bush.
