Streisand on Oprah.....
I had to skip Crossfire today because Babs was singing on Oprah. What a great show!! She sang 'Smile' and dedicated it to her late dog...brought tears to my eyes.
I bought myself a ticket to see Streisand in LA on her final concert tour for my 50th birthday and it was the best birthday present I've bought myself, ever. Two days before the concert my 13 year old dog suddenly got sick and had to be put to sleep. Watching her today talk about her little dog and his death brought back sad memories and yet really made my day. What a great lady!!

1. That's Sweet! Was there any much needed political discussion?

2. Did Babs thank Oprah for Arnold's election?
I can't watch.

5. Really! Barbra is so Beautifully Political...it would have
been hard for her not to bring up the disgrace that California has to deal with now.

6. do you really think
that Arnold's appearance on Oprah had any effect on the election? She was just going for ratings, which is her job. I live in LA (although I'm now rather embarassed by that), voted against the recall and for Bustamante, but am all too aware that we are a state obssessed with celebrity. Britney Spears could've gotten elected if she'd ran.

Remember, we live in a country where Laverne and Shirley was the number one show for three years. Of course he won. Sadly, it had little to do with politics, political parties, or Gray's incompetence. We elected a prom king.

9. Yes, I do believe Oprah had an effect, as she did on Dumbo's non-election
Women watch this woman in droves.

After Dumbo was on, the only news coverage of the campaign was the fact that Dumbo kissed Oprah when he greeted her, and Al Gore did not.

The line between journalism and enetrtainment has blurred so greatly that she can sway an awful of of people.

10. maybe he Al
should've kissed her. If that's all it takes, I guess I'll have to defer to the Laverne and Shirley comment. We get what we deserve.

7. I never watch Oprah.....
but I received an e-mail from Babs stating she would be on today. It is the ONLY reason I watched Oprah. Although Babs didn't discuss politics during the taping, she will also be on Oxygen tonight on 'Oprah After the Show' taking questions from the audience. I'm going to watch that also to see if she gets in any good licks against the repugs.

4. Good show!
I absolutely love Streisand. Her concert at Madison Square Garden was one of the high points of my life. (Hey, whatever lifts your spirits is a really good thing.)
