Poll question: What's Your Favorite Aspect Of Politics?
To watch, read about, discuss....

Is it campaigns and elections?

Is it the Legislative branch?

Is it the Executive branch?

Is it the Judicial branch?

Is it foreign policy / military affairs?

Is it state government?

Local government?

2. what policy?
That's kinda vague. Policy coming from the White House? Becuase that would fall under Executive branch.

If it's policy of the two major parties nationally, it would probably be Legislative.

the good, bad, finding common ground within the legislative and with the executive. Issues are what drive me more than parties or branches. The Legislative process, which also includes commentaries, editorials, PACs and the excutive

3. Legislative Branch
To me this is the most important branch of government and yes I am a C-Span junkie. I worked on the Hill as an IT employee for a year. I learned about what goes on in Committees and the culture that a Committee chairman brings to the committee.

There is a lot of behind the scenes work on legislation and there is the simple "talk to the constituients" work that is also done by staffers. If you talk to staffers you learn a lot of interesting things. Some of these folks have worked (for different Congressmen, Republican and Democrat) on the Hill for forty years.

All in all fascinating but the back biting is incredibly nasty. I got out right at the Impeachment Hearings as I supported the Judicial Committee and I couldn't stand it anymore.

5. Watch, read and discuss.
But frankly, it's a little disturbing to me that conservatives aren't allowed to post here. That's the kind of attitude I took to the streets to change in the 60' and 70's.

7. there are plenty of places to debate conservatives
this isn't one. This site is specifically designed for dems and liberals to discuss, solidify and debate amongst ourselves. Debating conservatives can be done elsewhere
