God save Bartman and his glorious new regime. This guy just became the joke of the month!

2. this could be a pro-Bush cartoon
It is in effect saying "If his advisors hadn't had their own agenda, our great leader would be the Savior Of Iraq!" Just like Alou would have saved the Cubs supposedly.

Bleh. The Bush regime people are all equally culpable. If the cartoonist wanted to be more accurate, Bush would be Bartman, and the ball would be Iraq, the economy, the domestic agenda, the environmental degradation, etc. that he flubs and squanders every day.

Though I must add that THIS Cubs fan does not hold Bartman accountable. Only the team, especially the collapse of the pitching, the fielding flub, and inability to shake off the Bartman incident, are to blame. Plus, Florida is a helluva tough ball club - they never rolled over for the favored Giants either.

Bartman is a symbol, a focal point, of the latest heartbreak and frustration to befall the Cubs. I am sure many cartoonists and others will get lots of mileage out of the troubled soul.

4. I spent three minutes staring at the cartoon
wondering what it had to do with Bart Simpson's superhero alter ego.

:)
