and it isn't AT ALL about being offended..it is about having lived through a period of time where women were relegated to second class citizenship and lifted themselves out of it only to see it going full circle with posts claiming if a woman had sex a couple days before she MAY HAVE BEEN raped, then she obviously wasn't raped.

I guess we are all going to have to put GET RAPED TODAY on our TO DO lists at the beginning of the week so that no evidence will overlap.

Didn't you know that only virgins can truly be raped? If you've ever had sex with anyone else before, it must have been consensual! Especially if you didn't allow a decent period to elapse between having sex with a partner and getting raped...say, a few months or so.

I slept with my whole family every time we camped out. And I slept with my brother when we were kids. I probably slept with my mom and dad during thunderstorms when I was reeeel small. Wow, this is adding up!

Coming from an older generation (the same as Bill Clinton), I can assure you that we had a fine understanding of the "everything but..." rule, and were quite ready to invoke it in order to be able to claim our "pure and spotless" status to our elders. By our standard, it was only sex if, shall we say, the body parts responsible for creating a child wound up in the relative places generally necessary for creating a child.

I think oral sex and intercourse are two entirely separate things. Now, I don't think that one can claim innocence if they only perform/receive oral sex, by any means.

You will eventually have sex. My mother used to tell me when I was a teenager that I would have my whole life to have sex. I didn't believe her and started early at fifteen when my libido hormones were starting to kick in. My high school relationships weren't really worth it and I got really hurt by the two guys that I slept with my freshman year of college. When I was nineteen, I met my same aged husband, who had never had sex before, and we have had lots of sex since then. I know that your hormones are kicked in and that it is not cool for guys to be virgins, but really be patient.

Have practiced serial monogamy for some years now. And my wife is so terrific that the number will never go up again -- and thank God for that!

How many dates do you go on with somebody before the subject of sex comes up? Be honest about it! In the times I was unwed and adult, it really was expected that if you had been out with somebody three times or so and sex hadn't at least been discussed you probably needed to move on to a new person. It was unthinkable that you dated anybody for more than a few months without sleeping with them.

So just figure you dated every person for three or four months and then dated somebody else... It isn't difficult to imagine that you'd end up in two people's beds per year (other than your own!)

So, figure 2 per year.

Now, if you started dating at 18 and wed at 28 suddenly you've hit the magic 20 without really working all that hard at it...

(not my partner, BTW) tried to figure it out once, and the best we could figure was that between the 2 of us, we have fooled around with about 4000 men. We both went through some very extended slutty phases.

The second category without naming a number. If I had begun dating my husband at 19, the number might have been quite a bit higher. I always got hurt from having sexual experiences, in a relationship or not, that did not turn into a permanent relationship as with my husband. I guess I am glad that the number is not higher.
