Couldn't get in to see Michael Moore today
Spent more than an hour in the hot (it's 92 degrees
out here today) sun waiting in a long public line
at a local college where the student line was as long,
waiting to hear MM. Someone inside knowing
that there were huge lines outside and only a number
of roped off public seats should have counted
off the ones who realistically would get in and
given us the heads up that the rest of us wouldn't get in.

Michael did come out and spoke a bit which was
a smart and considerate thing to do but by that
time we were gone.

a little whine from someone who can't control the universe.

1. I feel your pain
Last April, MM spoke at my community college.

Tickets went on Sale in December---but guess what? Students at the college didn't get first dibs---students who went to UW (univ. of Washington) got first dibs on tickets--how fucked up is that? UW isn't even CONNECTED with my school in any way except for people transferring degrees and mundane shit like that.

Of course, allllll the tickets were sold out within the first 3 days or so.

I was *SO* pissed, especially since for EVERY OTHER MAJOR EVENT like that (speakers, writers, singers, etc) that happens at the school, STUDENTS AND FACULTY have first dibs on the tickets---it's only fair, I mean my student fees are going to maintain the stage he's speaking on, etc....

So THEN, once the tickets sold out (They were like $10 each), UW students started re-selling them for $75 each. Fuckers. Never got to go, either. Made me supra-pissed. And, to top it off, 1/2 of the UW ticket holders didn't show up either, so they ended up letting people standing outside come in, but I didn't stand in line b/c I thought there was no need to b/c all the tickets were sold out.

Have I mentioned that I've loathed UW students ever since :)

to meet the crowds.

3. I agree.
If they know there's, say, 50 seats available, then count off the first 50 people in line and let everyone else know that there's really no reason for them to stand around b/c there's not enough seats.

I'm sure you don't get jollies from standing around and wasting time.... :)

5. You didn't get the memo then?
Librul authors and networks and other things from the Left have no appeal in bu$hmurka. Nobody will line up to see a nutcase like Moore!
