Does this logo have a 50s feel to it?

Belongs to www.80s.com

That's one thing I hated about the 80s. They stole the fashion of the late 60s and had shamelessly stolen iconography and such from the 50s.

The whole decade was lame. And it was all probably done just to make Reagan feel young. :eyes: :P x(

1. The logo looks very 80s...
... nothing was "shamelessly stolen." :eyes:

2. Almost - too much color saturation, though
I'd tone it down a bit. Also, the "Server" and "VIP LOGIN" fonts aren't 50s fonts, but they're close. But the overall design - very 50s.

4. the colors are wrong
The colors of the fifties are hot pink+black or aqua+yellow or aqua+pink or aqua+black. Fifties signage always had an unequal triangle in it, plus some stylized stars.

Go to www.fiftiesweb.com and check some links.

3. It kind of reminds me
of a sign from a 50s era diner.

5. Not 50s. 50s logos would have been atomic or biomorphic ..
shapes.

6. damn
the whole decade sucked?

It seemed ok to me.
Aside from the political landscape that is.
We banged so much that it made the 60's look like the 50's.
No AIDS to be afraid of in the early and middle part of the decade.

New Wave.
Punk and Hardcore.
Well, the cars were shitty in the mid 80's.

Just curious, how old are you?

7. Either too old to appreciate the 80s or too young to remember them..
...my guess.

My 15 year old sister-in-law used to dis the 80s but now she's Ms. 80s culture.

8. give it a little more time
I read somewhere this past summer that the "underground" scene in NY has bands playing New Wave and wearing skinny ties and the lot.

In about a year, the 80's will be the rage again.
which is fine by me, since I feel like it was only a few years ago that I was living it.
Plus, I hated the whole 70's, low waist line, bell bottom look the first time around. So, I've hated seeing the look everywhere for the past few years.

9. The 80s have been the rage for a few years now..
Major and medium market 80s radio stations, 80s acts reuniting and going on tour, VH1 and MTV specials.

The music is definitely back.

I'll agree the fashion will follow soon.

Kinda looking forward to seeing madonna-wannabes again!

10. VH-1 I love the 80's
It's kind of like "classic" rock, for those of us in our late 30's.

But when Old Navy sells parachute pants, you know the style has truly came back in fashion.

11. The past few years?
It feels like the whole 70's revival has been going on for way too long.
Sick of it about 5 years ago.
