5. The nanny was played by Mona Washburn, the same woman who played
Henry Higgins housekeeper in My Fair Lady!

3. Oh I LOVED Brideshead.....
....I read it twice and the PBS version was awesome. What a great cast. I imagine Evelyn Waugh could not have cast it any better himself.

7. I just re-read the book also....
....it really is a great cast. John Gielgud really captured the father.

11. Was Jeremy Irons in it, and
did he look gorgeous then instead of kind of wasted, as he does now?

18. It was Jeremy Irons, and he was very skinny, but not wasted looking
Very white, though, as all the Brits are.

Although, it's clear from this point that he's the world's greatest actor (or pretty damn close) because he's totally believable as a boy of 19, and then as a man of 39.

12. The best mini-series EVER
I've got the DVDs, too. The late John Gielgud as Ryder's father was absolutely hilarious.

If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and read the book.

21. Anyone ever read the "Sword of Honour" trilogy?
I just finished re-reading it. I loved it, of course. I wish they'd do a TV version, though. My dad said they did do one in the late 60s on British TV, with Edward Woodward as Guy Crouchback and Ronnie Fraser as Apthorpe. I would've loved to have seen it...

22. Was that a package of Waugh's books, including The End of the Battle?
Which I just took out from the library?

If it was on BBC, you might want to check their website, they seem to be releasing everything onto video that they ever produced!
