I bought these Affirmation cards,
"Inner Peace," Cards by Dr. Wayne Dyer. 50 cards with sayings like,
"I am a Spiritual being At the core," on one side, and on the other: "You are not a human being having a spiritual experience. You are a Spiritual being having a human experience."

3. I personally like things like that.
A friend gave me a deck like that for Christmas and I keep them at work to cheer me up when I need it.

6. Personally, I prefer these ones:

I always find humor valuable as an affirmation, particularly morbid humor.

19. I love despair.com
a friend of mine gave me one of the small pictures for my bd, the one with the beautiful cheetah lounging in a tree:

Indifference

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

Maybe I should hang it in my classroom?

22. Their hate mailbag is hysterical
They announced that they were trademarking their symbol, the frowny-face emoticon, and would file cease and desist orders on anyone who used it henceforward. They have a bunch of letters on their site from nimrods who apparently took that seriously.

21. Stuart Smiley
always great.

I would love to see O'Really meet Stuart on SNL. That would be a show to watch!

Now Bill, don't you stretch the truth just a little? And Bill, doesn't your conscience bother just a bit when you say Al Franken is disturbed? Damn, that would be priceless.

12. Whatever works
This is from chapter 3 of Richard Bach's Illusions:

"You are quoting Snoopy the Dog, I believe?"

"I'll quote the truth wherever I find it, thank you."

17. Wayne Dyer goes to my church
Renaissance Unity in Warren, MI. www.renaissanceunity.com
I don't really know him, it's a church of about 2500 members, but I've seen him there and he does workshops sometimes. His teaching is not really my thing, I'm more of "A Course in Miracles" type person, when I'm not practicing wicca.

18. The interesting, and somewhat disturbing, thing
about this thread is that a couple of people PM'd me affirmatively, one stating that they were put off by the negative posts and so didn't post publicly.

I'm not really "into" Wayne Dyer, myself. I just like these cards. I put them on the windowsill above my kitchen sink.
