It's official. Me = sick as a dog. My own stupid fault. I travel like a bastard for four months until I am worn down like an old pencil eraser...and the first day I am back, I go out and get shitfaced watching the Sox. Body depleted, wide open to a bug. Well, here it is. Stupid.

Bleagh.

This is what I get for quitting teaching. Neat little advantage to being surrounded by kids all day is that you're in a bacterial sink. My first year I caught every bug. By the time I left, I was made of iron. My system could reject any virus because I was naturally innoculated after swimming through it every day. So much for that.

I AM NOT, however, one of those guys who becomes a jellyfish when I get sick. Stiff upper lip, baby, even if it does have snot all over it.

The baseball playoffs actually gave me a cold. I was sick all weekend. In fact, I was so sick on Saturday night, when Pudge Rodriguez kissed Oogie Urbina at the end of Game 1, I had to rewind it on TiVo to make sure I didn't hallucinate it. Nope. It happened. For all you went through with the students, you were never exposed to European bugs, which get everyone not previously exposed.

Plus, all the other things you said weaken the immune system - fatigue. alcohol, and disappointingf baseball, lol.
