Need cheering up, or at least defusing
Okay, I just dropped Latin (I've picked up a passable amount of French, Spanish, Hebrew, and even Japanese, but I'm handling Latin worse than Bush handles English), I just saw the Ann Coulter doll (just SCREAMING for a nice burning effigy), and I'm halfway through A"Lies and the Lying Liars". To be specific, I just plowed through a half dozen chapters and I'm in the middle of Franken's chapter, "That was not a memorial to Paul Wellstone."

Sweet merciful Quan Yin, I have to learn to take bits of politics at a time. Swallowing it in big bites is dangerous.

Anyway, this has all resulted in my being in a strange little demilitarized zone between mind-numbingly depressed and violently angry. I don't know if I want to take a nap or hitchike to NYC and break some conservative kneecaps. (I wouldn't, of course. I'm not a pacifist, and I'm not a very nice or reasonable individual at times, but I wouldn't do such a thing, no matter how much I would want to, or how much they undeniably deserve that (If I was David Wellstone, I would have decked if not outright shot or stabbed Bill Frist at Paul's memorial service. Hot headed. I admit that.).

Ehhhh... anyway, I have class in three hours and I want to be reasonably sure I'm not going to smash any windows and/or heads on the way there. Anyone have suggestions of how to chill and mellow out?

11. Just tooooooooo adorable!
Are they your bunnies?

I had a rabbit for a very brief time when I was a teenager (bless my mom for giving in to my whim of wanting a rabbit). We bought a hutch and the neighbors purposefully let their dog out (they were hateful people) and he killed the rabbit.

The loppies are so cute! Do they have names?

Anyone else have bunny pics to share? Bunnies, cats and golden retrievers always make me smile!

3. Beer - it's your friend, drink lots of it.
Honestly, you'd be better off driving to Virginia and breaking conservative kneecaps there. But I don't think that's the answer. I think beer is.

And you didn't need Latin anyway.

6. NYC's nicer
And I can probably find rich and influential conservatives who deserve it more too.

Eh, not one for beer. Happily cracking open a Mike's now. :-)

Thanks for turning my melodramatic into just mellow. :-)

4. Physical exercise, honey
Then sit and consider how we own the top of the best seller list.
Then go volunteer at a campaign of your choice. Then congratulate yourself that you speak exactly fifteen more languages than Bush.
<and me too, probably> :)

Remember, revenge is a dish best served cold. Make a difference in your sense of impotent rage and support someone that makes you hopeful again. Remember, this too shall pass. Like a gall stone maybe, but pass it will.

RV, remembering fifty years of fluctuating hope and rage.

7. 10,000 deep breaths. . . . .seriously, take a long hot shower,
have a nice cup of chamomile tea, put on some beach boys, and remember that most of these lousy spawn are simply not worth going to jail for.

taking latin was one of the best things I ever did-- you might want to reconsider

8. I said I felt violent, not that I felt foolish.
Interpret that as you will. (i.e., am I smart enough to not do something like that, or am I smart enough to get away with it?) Seriously, it's all a bunch of Batman fantasies anyway. Much as I'd love to dish out some Biblical justices to the SOBs to really deserve it, I realize it's not gonna happen and that I'll have to make my mark (scar?) on the world with my words.

Beyond that, yeah, stuff's mellowed. Tasty Cranberry Mike's, etc., etc.

I really wanted to take Latin, but halfway through the semester I'm doing worse and worse. My last test I barely got a 50% (that's failing), and my other tests I got a C- and two Ds, in chronological order. My learning curve is managing to slant DOWNWARD!

Besides, when your own professor tells you to drop, it's best to heed his advice. I'm simply not grokking it at all. Besides, tomorrow's the deadline to drop, so I'm lucky I got this in on time. It means my class is expunged, and I'm not given an F or a withdrawal to tarnish my GBA.

10. Illegitimati non carborundum
...still the most useful Latin tag for situations like this.
