Greetings from New Orleans
God, it's been the day from hell. We were short staffed at work so I had to work until 2pm, drive to Baltimore and then fly to New Orleans. It's about 11pm my time and I have to be at my class 7:30 their time (which is like me getting up at 6:30 my time in the morning - which I can barely do).

I'm connected with a pathetic 28.8k modem. I use DSL at home and I couldn't find any of those dumb connector cables for a modem card (my laptop is old as does not have one built in). So the only thing I could find to use is this old 28k modem.

So I'm on the 29th floor of my hotel looking out my giant size window watching the cars line up on Canal Street. There's already a party going on over on Bourban Street but this weary traveller is too pooped to party and can't drink anyways. Why couldn't they have these conventions in dry and boring towns.

So it's my first night in New Orleans and I'm sharing it with you. After my post I'll pop into the shower and clean a layer of the filth off my skin. Then I'll pop a Melatonin and settle in for a quiet night of rest (maybe take another peak at DU).

Rest well everyone!!

2. Hmmm ... 29th floor, giant window, Canal Street ...
Sounds like the Sheraton!

If so ... catch a few Zzzzz's ... get up ... go out the front door ... turn right ... walk to Harrah's and play blackjack until dawn. Then go to your conference/class.

I'm standing half naked in front of the window....geez, now I'll have peeping toms!!!

BTW, not much into gambling. Heck my shuttle was taking me through Bourban Street and all I could think was 'how soon til I get to my hotel and get some sleep'

5. Have FUN !! Make sure you visit the restaurants.
Great restaurants there.
I grew up in N.O. and now live in Los Angeles.

Try riding the street car uptown in the daytime( St Charles St.)
It's cool.
And don't forget the riverboats.

Drink Abita Beer!
