PA DU'er Alert re: County Commissioner race

I just got a phone call from a pollster, asked the usual questions and didn't really give away who they were calling in support of, but then I was asked if it would change my opinon of Dan Onorato if I knew he got a free trip to the Super Bowl from the NFL at the time he was voting on new stadiums in Pittsburgh. I was then asked if it bothered me that Onorato only paid the money back when he was "caught".

For those outside PA, Jim Roddey (the repubbie incumbent) is running a real dirty race full of lies and misleading statements, and this is another slimy step.

I must admit I'm a little surprised, too. Although I don't know why I should be surprised by the nastiness of his campaign.

His commercials boast of having a balanced county budget....earth to Jim! Pittsburgh's the county seat and it's in the crapper!

in Allegheny County.

I want to say that the problem with the Republicans and some Democrats (Murphy) is that they have pandered to business ...all this pandering and giving and massaging big business...and guess what? NOTHING in return. Absolutely NOTHING!

All these tax breaks for business but instead of rescinding those tax breaks to help the schools and make the city more inviting to honest businesses they are going after people who owe on back parking tickets (not that they shouldn't pay them...) but give me a break!
