At the end, the inmates wall him up alive. Well deserved in his case, but a very slow way to go. (Stolen from Poe, of course.)

I also remember a movie about Blackbeard which I saw as a child. He was buried (alive) on the beach, with just his head above the sand. Then the tide came in.
