Translate the Qu'ran from its original Arabic to modern English vernacular. Rewrite the more inflammatory passages or eliminate them and all references to them altogether. Then retranslate the redacted text into Arabic, and seize all the old versions, replacing them with the revised verses for distribution to every Muslim household.

Jesus is an honored prophet under Islam. Mohammed is considered the last prophet, not the only one.
Criticising Muslims for praying a lot is a little, um, counterintuitive for professed Bible-thumping members of the religious right, isn't it?
Pretty much the only hate-filled form of Islam is Wahhabism, the form taught and enshrined in law in Saudi Arabia. You know, those guys your Houston oil barons are so intent on staying kissy-kissy with no matter how many of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi.
Hey! Let's translate the Quran to English, cut out all the scary parts, then translate it back into Arabic! Three problems: 1) They're fundamentalist nuts, too! Nobody'd have the least interest in your bowdlerized translation. 2) They memorize it by heart, so getting rid of the original version would be a little tricky, unless you're planning to kill everybody (and everybody knows freepers are much too humanitarian for that!) 3) Hey! (Assuming 1 & 2 didn't obtain) why not just cut out the inflammatory parts WITHOUT TRANSLATING IT. Or would that be too logical?
And Jesus was a nice Jewish boy who never said word one about being the Messiah, the Son of God, or founding a new religion. Maybe while you're reading up on anti-Islamic tracts, you might take a look at some actual scholarship and take up Historical Jesus studies.

too often I see people on the right who refer to Iraqi's collectively as Muslims, or use things like burkas to depict Iraqi women, etc. It's not the case..

Do these folks ever read anything (other than Revelation) of the New Testament? Did the gentle Nazarene of the Gospels ever say anything like the above? Ever? Or was he quoted saying things like "turn the other cheek"? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"?

Their professed religion, Christianity, is supposed to be based on love. Love of their God, love of their fellow man, love of themselves. Three strikes and you're out, bubba. It doesn't say "love of all my fellow man except the ones that do things I think are icky or who worship in ways I think are weird."

I work closely with Muslims and other faiths in my city. I always take this stuff and send it to the mailing list (7000 people, I think) and I preface each message, with: "I would never tell you who to vote for, it's your choice. BUT -" This stuff is worth its weight in gold.

Mohammed was illiterate, as was most of Arabia at that time. But a pedIfile? He didn't have the benefit of a public school system. Or a spell checker. What's this guy's excuse?
