I've got a big exam in one and a half hours.
It's a cumulative preliminary exam. Three hours of brainracking dread that won't be over unitl 10:30 local time. There are two each quarter, each worth a maximum of two points. You need four points by the end of your second year, or else they show you the door.

I've noticed that I'm still real rusty from spending the summer out of the classroom. I'm not to worried about it though. 'Cause I'm a pimp player.

6. Where do you go to school?
My prelim in chemistry at Berkeley was a joke! I worried about it for two years, and it was so anticlimactic. What kind of chemistry do you do?

10. I did p-chem.
NMR of proteins, to be specific. As such, I don't have any useful advice, except that you know more than your committee does about your specific topic, so in a way, you can kinda direct the exam by what you say or don't say.

Organic was always the other side of the fence for us. I couldn't tell my Diels-Alder from a Friedel-Crafts reaction if my life depended on it! Good luck though!
