1. The only reason she's kept her this long is because of the $$$$
She never should have been able to keep her. SHe's a heroine addict. Has been since before Kirk died. They both had no business procreating. Jeez. I swear...

2. From what I've seen of her
it looks like she has some mental illness. The drugs are probably a way of self medicating. I don't know if she would be a nicer person if she were to get treatment, but she would be better off and she might get her daughter back. As it stands right now, though, she doesn't deserve to have custody of her. She's definitely unfit.

6. Bingo.
Axis 1: Bipolar.

Axis 2: Histrionic Personality Disorder.

Axis *.*: Your message here.

But then again, there is a doctorate in psych for anyone who writes a paper about the psychiatric disorders in rock stars. It's at epidemic proportions. Trust me.

8. And to think her father was a part of the Grateful Dead family
He worked for them for a few years in some capacity of which I can't remember.

Yeah, the mental illness thing is definately a part of it.

9. Why would that make him a good father?
From what I understand he was a pretty big *sshole and a horrible parent. Which could account for how she turned out.

Why would being a part of the Grateful Dead family have anything to do with whether she was a good parent or not? If anything it could explain drug problems that had been passed down to her.

And for the record I am a Dead fan. But I don't have a Utopian vision of who they were or what they stood for.

19. You're right, he wasn't a good father...
and neither was her mother. Both of them emotionally abandoned her when she was a child. The drug addiction and pathological need for attention are rooted in that trauma. I find her annoying, but I also find her her pitiable.

20. You'd be screwed up too...
If your parents were both rock "stars" (Kurt had some minor talent; Courtney has been coat-tailing his death for years), and they named you Frances Bean. I mean, who'd want a name that sounds like they got you from a mail-order catalogue?

I gather that most people there (I lived there for a couple years) loathe Courtney, miss Kurt.

Am I right?

14. My friend works in a salon in Seattle
Courtney used to come in there once a week and abuse all of the staff, throw food and drinks around the dressing rooms. She had some kind of minder who would follow her around and pay for her services, the damage, etc. There's something seriously wrong with that woman.

21. overdose of oxy isn't drug abuse?
WTF does she think is wrong with herself? I think she is a drug addict and someone aught to tell her so, then leave her ass on the street. Letting her hit bottom may be the only thing that saves her.

PS. I am sorry she had druggy asshole parents, but that is no excuse. I had druggy asshole parents too and I decided to make better choices.
