Football Trivia
Who was the first radio announcer for the University of Oklahoma's football team?

Hint....this person later became one of the most respected people in his profession. Everyone(male and female) has heard of this person. Gosh, any more hints and I'll completely give it anyway.

20. My mom met Walter Cronkite
Actually she worked as a supervisor at a hotel near Sun Devil Stadium and she was walking through the hallways checking out rooms and bumped into Walter Cronkite in the hallway. She said she was nervous as hell and she said she wasn't coherent when she tried to speak to him.

27. Not football but WWII related:2d most decorated soldier in WWII
Who is it? Audie Murphy was first but this person was second (I heard this on a radio trivia game)

He was awarded 5 battle stars and among the first to reach Berlin. Again not football related. But has a strange sort of relationship with the original question on this thread.

56. Yes born Tadeus Konopka
http://www.billjerome.com/tedknight/bicentennial/bp_760614_mo1.html

Parade chariman Edwin Chmieleski shed light on Knight's lesser-known past achievements in noting that the actor received five battle stars during his Army service in World War II. Ted Konopka was in one of the first troops to enter Berlin and was an active member of the town's veterans groups.

He co-starred with Ted Knight on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show". Ted Knight was an anchor man on the TV station Mary worked at, hence the Kent Brockman hint.
