Please recommend a Miami hotel...

looking for a hotel in Miami that is SAFE
and close to the American Airlines Arena (within taxi ride distance)

please indicate whether the suggestion is cheap, moderately priced, or expensive...I am willing to look at all three.

Downtown Miami, very exppesive, but worth it.

2. There are lots of them around the airport.

I believe the Marriot is there . Put in a search for hotels and motels in the Miami Springs/Virginia Gardens area. I think there is a Hampton Inn right there on 36th Street almost around the corner from the airport. I can't think of any other names, because it's been a few years since I've lived there.

3. Anything Westin or Sheraton...

We stay at these chains where ever we go, and we really like them and they are really nice. They are just under a hundred a night (sometimes you can find better deals on the internet). They have great breakfast buffets in the morning too.
