I've already said who I support, but obviously do not feel as passionate as some of those people. Sometimes, the information that comes out in those threads is intersting and even helpful but I usually don't post in them. If it upsets you, stay out of the thread. Sometimes, people will fight with you no matter how good your arguement is.

They are just annoying as hell.

John, you add some sincerity and dignity with a bit of silliness to GD that I would miss, very much, if you left.

Yesterday, there were a few posts about Kucinich that I would have loved if you had responded to with a personal attack that would have been deleted. I was hoping you would write something like: "Go fuck yourselves you Republican wannabees." LOL I prefer rudeness and anger over sanctimoniousness ANY DAY--but that is me.

Haven't been in GD lately - I think I might need to endure that for a while.

is all it's cracked up to be. I read there every day, and have developed a short list of a dozen or so folks whose posts can be relied upon to be usually well grounded and well thought out.

I post there rarely, however and take a great many breaks from GD.

This is a big tent message board and there are people of all ages (as well you know), all temperament, all levels of education and ability. People come here for various reasons, all the while basically acknowledging that this forum is a discussion board and has only a minimal impact on government and the community.

Many here seem to feel that the only means of honing their intellect is to argue, rant and screed at one another. Odd to me, as I work with an order of priests who are well-reknowned for their abilities to debate craftily, but who see no value in those methods that engage in hositilities. They've taught me that reading, pondering, discussion and engaging in speculation are much more certain paths to education.

...it's good to check in on the others from time to time. Don't hide. ;-)
