The Red Sox beat the Marlins so badly in the regular season that we had to APOLOGIZE the next day for running up the score. I think it was 24-5.

Sarge is thrill they won...a true Florida Boy..who played on the Little League Team The Marlins and he was still rooting for them when I was rooting for Boston. We are happy they won...I would of been torn and had to cheer my Red Sox.

I read your post on Bill Buckner happily living in Idaho, good for him and forgeting his error...he sure did bring Sarge in this world two weeks earlier, he was supposed to be the second week in November but now that I think about it, I can't believe I watch the World Series in 1986 in my 9th month...but you know one Red Sox fan to another...we support and cheer on the home team!

Was it game 4 that they went 12 innings? Did you watch that? Yankees in the 11th inning with bases loaded and one out? That was freaking good baseball. And Beckett didn't impress me in the last game he had played, but tonite, he was so great. I feel good for the kid, got a 5 hit night and personally delivered the last out. It is probably the greatest day of that kids life.

Why did the Red Sox squander their victory over the A's? That did them no good at all. My pain over the A's losing that series would have been eased had the Red Sox beaten the Yankees, but as usual they blew it. Yes, I know the A's blew this, the A's blew that. I know and I don't care. The A's have three world championships (1972-74, and again in 1989) in a row and nobody can ever take that away from them. Never. In any event, while the Marlins won their championship fair and square, I think many baseball fans are getting fed up with Yankee domination in October.

So I can afford to say "Congratulations, Marlins...fine season, Yankees (okay, that second one was tough), and great playoff season all the way around." Unless I'm mistaken, both the Yankees and the Marlins won more games in the playoffs than the Tigs did all year.
Being a Tig fan is like being the parent of ugly, untalented kids...you still gotta love 'em anyhow. There's always next season -- maybe we'll only lose 118 games.

For the first time in years I watched the playoffs because the Cubs looked like they might have a chance. It was exciting, but ultimately it was a downer as they lost in extra innings. That was when I quit watching, and had no interest in the World Series afterward.

I could have watched the Red Sox, but Yankees and Marlins?

What started off as good entertainment just fizzled for me when that fan robbed the Cubs of a win.

So the Marlins won it all? Still I ask, what the hell is a Marlin? I guess I've been away from sports for too many years

The Sox or the Yanks don't suck but they did perform less than the Marlin champs.

I recall my Phins spanking your Pat's in regular season the year your Pat's won the Superbowl... Point....Just cause you when a game against a team in regular season don't mean your the best team.... I've seen teams get spanked by 20 runs one game and then come back and beat the same team the next night...

and their fans. The Marlins' win isn't a fluke. Since May, they've had the best record in the Majors I believe.

Honestly, I lost interest after the ALCS. I'm a Sox fan and I didn't even root against the Yankees - I simply didn't care. Just too damn depressed I guess: another spectacular, train-wreck-in-slow-motion loss, to those damn Yankees no less. It left me drained.

That being said, I'm satisfied that the Yanks lost. Then again the Marlins have won two more WS Championships than the Red Sox since '97 (I think) and even longer than that (since '18).

What's the over-under on the number of firings that'll go down in NY?

And that includes the Red Sox, no matter how badly the Red Sox may have beaten them several months ago.

The Marlins beat 2 100-win teams soundly, and the Cubs when down 3-1 to win this thing.

They were the best team and they deserve this championship.

The Marlins had the best record in baseball since early May. They beat everyone that came their way fair and square. Good for them. They are better than the Yankees at this moment in time. They are the best team in baseball at this moment in time. And that's all that matters.
