I was raised around guns in a family of hunters and was given my first rifle at 10, and have had lessons for using hand-guns. I am more then willing to use them if I were to be attacked by anyone physically.

The bit of truth in one comment was about Liberals being against guns until they perceive they need one themselves. I have had a number of friends who have crossed that divide.

It is strange that people who want all drugs legal want to outlaw guns, and that people who want guns with no restrictions are against citizens having the right to recreational chemistry. I guess that is part of my Leftist Libertarian streak.

BTW I am a liberal lefty and have done 2 tours of combat and I am sure I have fired a wider variety of guns and bigger too, biggest being 120mm, I am also a veggie

If you want something for personal defense, get something like a S&W .357 and use Hydro-Shocks, or get a .12 ga. side-by-side and use #2 oe #1 buckshot. 9 mm's are just too small to have that 'knock down, stay down' force you need.

Sorry, I'm a gun ignoramus. What's a hydroshock? 9mm is 0.354" in diameter, is there that big a difference between that ammo and a 0.357 round? Is there online place I could go and read up on all this? Thanks!

The major difference between 9 mm. and .357 is weight and speed; as a rule, .357 ammunition is both heavier and faster and delivers more 'knock-down power' than do 9 mm. projectiles. :hi:

the difference is that a .357 Magnum is like a hot rod version, with a much more powerful bullet.
