I'm horrible with names and faces. It may be related to Asperger's syndrome or just ADD.
I often am confronted with people who claim to have met me somewhere but don't know where. It happened again the other night, with a bingo caller. I claim to live a sheltered existence, but Ahknaten pointed out that for a variety of reasons, I'm fairly well known in town due to my involvement in:
- the rock music business (bands, stores, venues)
- the classical music business (choirs, bands, other stores, venues)
- the church music business (churches, more stores)
- music education (former students, former teachers, audience)
- the police beat (volunteer work, bylaw enforcement, security checks)
- Federal politics (volunteer work, campaigning, LGBT issues, camera opportunities, activism)
- City politics (volunteer work, campaigning, LGBT issues, camera opportunities)
- Condo politics (former board member)
- Kids' sports (two different leagues)
- Bingo and other volunteerism
- LGBT issues (activism, volunteerism, various clubs and activites)
- clubbing
Jaysus, when do I sleep?
If he wants to investigate the matter further, my first questions is probably going to end up being "was I wearing clothes at the time?".
Oh, dear.
