I don't really get the obsession over it. Coulda been just like an episode of "Threat Matrix", for all I know. Can't say I've ever "enjoyed" terrorism as entertainment, even before it became an American reality.

1. I didn't like tonight's episode as much
It gets much more interesting as the plot gets rolling.

I won't talk about any details b/c it hasn't aired on the West Coast yet.

5. Tonight's episode started fairly slow....
Usually there is a bit more of a cliff hanger effect in each episode. Give it another try, though Paragon. If anything like the last two seasons, it gets much better.

2. I think a part of the atraction
Edited on Tue Oct-28-03 11:07 PM by khephra
is that it has introduced "Arc" or season-long storylines to an audience that normally doesn't get into that sort of storytelling. Sort of like how Babylon 5 hit some people who were science-fiction fans raised on the episodic Star Trek. 24 hits the Cops/Agents & Robbers/Spies crowd the same way.

That being said, I think the show is just ok.

4. Nice analogy!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed the rise of the story arc in modern television. That's one of the main reasons I watch 24: the story arcs.

3. There is only one way to watch 24.
Take a weekend with someone you like and rent the first season. It’s very like an obsession if you watch it as if it were a movie or a book you HAD to finish. My daughter and I did it with the tape of the first season when the boy and his dad went camping, we were up on Sunday night until the middle of the night because we couldn’t go to bed without knowing the end. It really was fun.

7. Yeah, I caught part of it and was yawning...
...maybe you have to watch a lot to get hooked, but that episode didn't make me wanna watch anymore.
