Bias, bias, bias, screams the RightWingNuts
Where do they get their news?

Oh, that's right, Ann Coulter or Sean Hannity, or Joseph Farah, or Jonah Golderg or Chris Ruddy or Brit Hume make it up as they go along.

1. We have seen the end of objectivity.
We now have only a war of emotions, slogans, and appeals to fear. They can spin anything. Bush says the increased violence in Iraq means two things: 1) there is less violence in the world with him in charge; and 2) we are making progress. There is no objective reality that will convince people that his actions are destroying people, here and abroad. Even if people could be convinced of that, they would simply argue either that 1) it's Clinton's fault (either or both Clintons); or 2) those who are killed deserved it. I have no idea how to end this charade except to throw my hopes towards education and information. I don't believe it can work, but I don't have any other ideas. I wish we could convince more people to take action (protests, civil disobedience, etc.), but I do not believe we can get the millions we would need, nor do I think the current administration would be moved by it. I would love an overthrow of the government, but do not favor violence, worry about what kind of government would replace what we have now, and know that revolution is impossible. So, where is the hope? Can we defeat chimpy in 2004? If so, would we get anywhere, or is it an uphill fight against the Congress and corporations?

2. Myth of the Liberal media
I'm with you - I really want to see some objective reporting of the facts, but it seems that the best news to be had is that from the Daily Show on Comedy Central- pretty sad...
Bush and the Repugnicans can NOT be permitted to continue on, but you are asking the right question -
What can we do? How do we mobilize, organize, light fires under, inspire, the people to ACTION? Are folks really so complacent or lazy or apathetic that they feel nothing can be done??
I spent a lot of time on the phone yesterday, calling CBN to register my disgust at Robertson's comments about God being about to destroy the Episcopal church, and that being just fine with him...
Called the White House to demand that Shrub release his military records, come clean on his desertion, release IMMEDIATELY all documents relating to 9/11 to the commission investigating the terrorist attacks, and to repay the taxpayers for his little contrived photo op stunt aboard the aircraft carrier. I also asked that he reprimand Gen. Boykin, and that he turn over the person who leaked Valerie Plame's name to the media.
Important to NEEDLE the media in our respective areas, demanding coverage of the proper issues!!
