9. One reason

Mary Tyler Moore looks so grotesque is that she was for many years a very heavy smoker. I remember back when the MTM show first came on, many articles about her mentioned that she looked much older in person. Plastic surgery can't really undo the damage to the skin caused by years of cigarettes.

Plus, she's got the most fake, cannonball breasts cleavage I think I've ever seen. Shudder.
