Does anyone here know how the tickets for Greyhound work?
I want to buy a round trip ticket for myself and a one-way for my daughter to come back with me. I am wondering how the dates for the return trip will work. Are they left open or do you have to have a specific return date?
from the last time I rode greyhound. Back then, you got a ticket and got on the bus, there were no set times. I would buy round trips and decide after I got there when I would return
4. They have a standard fare and then there are discounted fares
If you buy a standard fare ticket -- generally Greyhound will allow you to travel whenever you want on it, though you do have to put down specific dates just for the record. You can also get off the bus anywhere along the line and get back on another bus heading your way if you feel like it.
The standard fare gives you that flexibility...and I believe that goes for military discount tickets too.
However, tickets discounted any other way -- companion fares (where you buy one standard fare and two people can ride on it) ... "Super friendly fares" that are discounted because of advanced purchase... you MUST travel on the specific day and time on the ticket. The only exception is if there is a full bus; they will let you on the next one going your way.
