1. Cy Twombly.
His paintings are immense, mysterious and sensous in a gestural way.

Edited on Fri Aug-05-05 07:13 AM by swag
I saw that in Philadelphia some years ago. Couldn't leave the Twombly room for the joy of it all. The haters coming in and going out of the room, muttering.

On edit: wasn't that part of "50 Days at Ilium?"

36. Have you been to the Cy Twombly gallery
at the Menil in Texas?

The Kunsthaus in Zurich also has some nice Twomblys, and its on my agenda this summer.

Here, I bet you'd love this book. (It was my Christmas gift from my wonderful Swiss mother-in-law last year.)

I've been around less just b/c life is busy. Soon I'll have something interesting to share...we're making a documentary movie about one of my recent campaigns. It is a larger story about entrenched power and political nepotism that carries a universal message.

Freud is a freak, but in a good way. Generally, I tend towards more abstract art, but his ultra-realism strikes a chord with me.
