Sadly, I don't have a lot of money right now. Listened to some tracks while in Borders books and God they were some of the best stuff from them in a long time.

1. Two Dream Theater threads on the front page at once! A good night for DU

But I thought the album was good. Some of my friends who expected another metal- fest were somewhat disappointed, and I wouldn't say the album as a whole is as strong as some in their past, but I still say it is a great album.

My friend and I waited at a local music store until it opened on the morning of its release to get it, and when we walked out this fattish, very business- like late 30's guy in a suit was walking in and saw our Cd's and said that he too had come for the new Dream Theater and was really excited about it. We didn't really expect that. I guess DT brings people together though...

Edit: Added long, boring story.

2. It's good stuff.
You've got a couple of kickass single-type songs, a sweet ballad, another episode in Portnoy's alcoholism epic, a 9/11 song, a magnum opus in the title track, and even what seems to be a tribute to U2 of all things. It's got something for everything -- and, like most albums, at least one thing that'll piss you off. ;)

3. It's a good album but...
Personally, I think '03's Train Of Thought is their best work since I&W.

4. I didn't much like Train of Thought, actually.
Although a few of those songs kicked ass in "Live At Budokan."
