8. This link explains that this song is sung

with children in a circle.

I seem to remember playing this game when I was in elementary school at recess. We also played London Bridge Is Falling Down as a singing/circle type game. The same is true for The Farmer's In the Dell.

My own children didn't play these games. I don't know if any children play them today. I guess they would be called folk games, the kind of game that is passed down from generation to generation.
