8. I was married to one of those.
He lived fast, died young, and left a good looking corpse.

That was thirty years ago.

I don't think he would have been happy with the aging process.

When they were small, my kids from my second and current marriage once asked me if they would meet him in heaven. I told them no, because he would have found heaven boring.

10. I'm sorry for your loss thirty years ago.
my easy rider, my rock passed away back in '93

the aging process just takes a little getting used to ... we need a few more breaks from the 'all fun, all the time' attitude to recoup and do it again

6. Same here
I'd prefer the back of a cereal box to one of those things. I worked in bookstores for about five years and always got a laugh out of the vapid descriptions of the stories and the outrageous cover illustrations on them.

9. The man of my dreams is real.
I have met my easy riding desperado a few times just not recently.

So ~ it's time to have some fun again. The problem is that 2nd best isn't good enough. I'd rather sleep alone as I have every night for the past 3 years than to settle for less.

I've actually been lucky in my love life compared to most of my friends stories.

7. yes
He can have tatoos (however it isn't a requirement) as long as they aren't gross!

hmmm ~ piercings might add a new twist on an old theme but having never tried it ... I wouldn't know.

well read ... and willing to read a few favorite books of mine ... if I'm snoozing so he has the time

looking to 'take a walk on the wild side' is a must!!!

11. These walks on the wild side you speak of.....
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 05:49 AM by WCGreen
What would that entail......

And what types of books do you require to pass the reading test....

For me, no romance novels...

I prefer John Irving, Philip Roth, Saul Bellows, usually literary to good mainstream fiction....

13. It could include Cool Whip
but that's not mandatory and often results in the usage of vast amounts of water (BTW ~ showering with a friend isn't a water-saving technique) = vanilla with sprinkles type of walk on the wild side = let your freak flags fly ~~~~~~~

books by Starhawk, Anne Rice, Patricia Cornwell, early Steven King ... pure entertainment, erotica, Harry Potter books, something to get lost in ~ a break from everyday reality

my taste in everything is eclectic

24. The man of my dreams...
Physically, my tastes can vary, but usually I tend to like men with short hair and good chests. I'm usually not attracted to chunky guys- a little extra is ok, just not obese. Other than that, I guess I just know when I know and other factors are more important than physical ones.

1. No major substance abuse issues. That's a biggie for me. I'm a libertarian about drug laws, but I really don't want anyone who does anything more than have an occasional drink for the most part. Sorry, just been through too much BS in this area.

2. Must like children (in a normal, non-Michael Jackson way). Realistically, anyone who'd be serious about me has to. I'm a mom and it's a huge factor in my life.

3. Someone who is OPEN! Someone who knows how they feel and can express it. Don't make me have to work to figure out what you're thinking. Tell me! (This is another biggie!)

4. Someone reciprocal. I'm not big on narrowly defined gender roles. (I can fix stuff myself and while I like to cook sometimes, don't expect me to always be the one who does it.)

5. Politically left. I'm rather unbending on this. I have never met a Republican man I found intelligent enough or respectful enough to women to even make me have an interest.

6. Must be able to keep up with me and accept who I am. Must be very open-minded, but essentially monogamous.

7. Factor X (chemistry that can't necessarily be defined in words).

Thankfully, I actually have someone in my life who fits what I want and need. :bounce:
