Old TV shows that haven't been made into movies yet
I just saw the thread on the upcoming movie version of I Dream of Jeannie, and got to thinking - a bunch of those old shows have been made into movies, often with horrid results. Off the top of my head I can think of Starsky and Hutch, The Brady Bunch, The Honeymooners, and Bewitched. What lame old TV shows do you think will be made into movies, and who do you think will star?

I'll start: Kojak, with James Gandolfini starring, Paul Giamatti as Stavros, and Chris Tucker as Huggy Bear.

52. About 1991
They had a remake of Dark Shadows, though I don't remember who was in it. I know that Michael T. Weiss was it, before he did The Pretender.

2. Green Acres
all time best satire - Paris Hilton will play the Za-za Gabor role and Jim Carey can be the Eddie Albert character.

Someone who sounds like Rush Limbaugh should do the voice over for the pig.

Now that's a remake worth seeing!

10. psst that is already in the works-Starring Steve Carell
http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/entertainment/music/12423462.htm

But here I go again. What has me psyched this time is a coming remake of the spy-spoofing sitcom "Get Smart," starring Steve Carell (whose face is on our Friday TimeOut cover today). What genius! And if they haven't cast an Agent 99 yet, here's our suggestion ... Uma Thurman. Yar! I don't know when this movie comes out, but chances are I'll be heartbroken again. When that happens, someone please mail me a copy of this article so I can slap myself with it.

50. There was a very short remake
of Get Smart about 6 years ago, with Andy Dick as Max and 99's son. He was more inept than his father. I think Don Adams was in it as Max, now running CONTROL.

6. CHiPs-Johnny Knoxville and Leon Spinks as "Ponch"
Actually they did a shor film of that on Jimm Kimmel a couple of weeks ago. Knoxville was on (with his singer/songwriter cousin) and he has a tattoo of Spinks that lead to the spoof. It was actually fairly funny.

47. Alice was a movie before it was a TV series
Alice doesn't live here anymore. Gena Rowlands I think in the lead.

So a Movie becomes a TV series becomes a movie again. I wonder if that's ever been done before?

12. "Dallas" starring Bruce Willlis
P.S.: A big-screen treatment of "Dallas" is in the early stages, as well. According to the New York Post, Larry Hagman, who starred in the TV show, is lobbying for Bruce Willis to get the role in the movie. Hmmm ... doesn't sound half bad.

57. Totally. All the shitty shows are made into movies
I suppose, though, why should writers strive for creativity when there's a boatload of shitty, half-rate 70's and 80's TV shows that didn't last 13 weeks but would CERTAINLY last 2 hours on the silver screen.

Hollywood is the reason I haven't watched a movie in a theater since 1999
