4. The Simpsons...
.. has lost their edge - I quit watching a couple years ago. Even so, they have nothing to be ashamed of - they had a longer run of that genre than will be duplicated for a long time.

Family Guy is really funny and so out there that they make me feel like a prude sometimes, and I ain't no prude :)

So I voted Simpsons then, FG now:)

stopped watching the simpsons and think they should've gone out with dignity about 4-5 years ago.

5. Other: Simpsons earlier, then Family Guy for a couple years, now Simpsons
I don't think the new, post-cancellation episodes are as good as their earlier episodes. Now too often they use crude humor just for the sake of being crude. Earlier they'd have very well written material that often just happened to be crude. The main cause of this is probably two of Family Guy's previous writers starting American Dad.

The Simpsons, on the other hand, had an almost undisputed decline in seasons 11-14. However the last couple seasons have been a bit of a rebirth for The Simpsons. Some of the newer episodes have featured some of the best satire seen on TV for a long time and finally some new memorable lines (Commander Cuckoo Bananas!). Perhaps this is because Futurama was cancelled and Matt Groening can now devote more attention to The Simpsons.

7. I wish I'd written that
I completely agree. Family Guy has noticeably declined in creativity especially the writing. The language and themes are over the top crude and hardly clever. The Simpsons got so boring compared to its old self I stopped watching a couple of years ago. Only the positive remarks here got me to tune in again, and it's definitely a surprising uptick.

6. I really wish I liked "Family Guy".
I just and simply don't. They're trying too hard to be outrageous, the second coming of "South Park". YMMV

9. Family Guy Now, Simpsons Then
The Simpsons used to be the best, but it has been going downhill for a while now.
