I've been reading the Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian lately. Sorta like Hardy Boys for full-grown adults who wanted to be pirates. I ran across a line today that just made my whole body engage in a rictus of "Ick:" "Captain Aubrey looked fondly at his own 'drowned baby.'"

Reminds me of the old, reaaaaallllllyyy sick joke about "How do you make a dead baby float?" Answer: "Two scoops of ice cream, two scoops of dead baby."

I always thought that just a really sick joke. Now it appears to have been an actual nineteenth century british recipe.

Who could ever sit down to a dessert called a "drowned baby?" We *really* should alert the morally dead, ethically bankrupt right-to-life movement.

2am central standard....then my posts dont' make sense, and i'm just barely reading...:)

Even when I worked night shifts I'd still "hit the wall" anywhere from 2-4 AM.

i'm from SE Alaska, which is about an hour and a half flight to sea/tac...i love the pacific northwest, and i can't wait until i move back home...go Mariners, go Hawks, and Sonics damn it! my dad is from Everett, and he instilled the seattle teams into my veins...:)

I love it. So when do you move back?

but i know, someday i will be back...just not now, or in the forseeable future.....it is beautiful there, beats Missouri, hands down....:)

And no I'm not. She hasn't done the Nighthawk's thread in awhile. She must be busy.

about to get in the mood to work. For some reason I have troubles falling asleep these days and therefor have a hard time to get out of the bed in the mornings.
But othere than that I can't complain :hi: :loveya:

I keep staying up later and later! Good thing I work from home and make my own schedule, else I'd really be in trouble!

but it keeps getting between midnight and 1am that I am falling asleep. It gets tough then to get up around 6.30am. The good thing is that I normally come to work around 8am. But I also can come till 9am latest, so when I sleep a bit longer I am not getting to work late. I just have to work longer in the evening to get my hours.
