9. Oh trust me, I do
enjoy every minute of SoCal!!

But I'm saving that pic just in case I should ever get homesick. That'll take care of it right quick. ;)

We were looking at Nebraska's forecast at work today. Monday looks like a REAL winner. Channel 6 out of Omaha plastered the word "FRIGID" on it...high of 12, low of -2, more snow, anyone's guess what the wind chill will be. Oh man, the degree to which I don't miss that crap is astounding.

but that makes it good farmland. I'm from north Alabama, and lived in Colorado for awhile, so I like mountains, too:)

36. How is I-80?
I have to drive my gf's little neon from indy to CA in a few weeks. Thankfully she'll be along to keep me company. Time not being a factor, I was debating detouring well out of my way south.

42. It doesn't really matter what I-80 looks like
right now. It will likely look far different in a couple of weeks.

It's a crap shoot, the weather in NE changes constantly. This time of year you can get anything from sunny and 55 degrees to 20 below zero and 14 inches of snow.

You won't know what it's going to be like until the day before you drive through it. Good luck!

11. Ah, yes,
I'm not a driver, but I'm a tech who spends an absurd anmount of time in the always uncomfortable right seat of a bunch of tractors. My company specializes in old broke down P.O.S's. The only freightliner was about a 1989 no-frills day cab (don't know the model name--but it's the one you always see)

The T-600 was like a gift from above.

But I always thought those Volvos looked pretty snappy. The Freightliner Century has kind of a similar slant on the hood, doesn't it? Well stay warm and stay on the road! :)

When we went back for Thanksgiving there was always an ice storm & trying to travel between families my husband always missed the Cornhusker game. We just stay in Mobile now & let them come to us.

on the Coke thing. I remember Danny well. Tornadoes from remnants took out many homes in Jefferson County. Last year, Ivan left us in Walker County W/O power for 6 days. We were lucky-merh and other Katrina survivors are STILL trying to cope.

38. The Springsteen Song is colder
Nebraska - Bruce Springsteen

I saw her standin' on her front lawn just twirlin' her baton
Me and her went for a ride sir and ten innocent people died

From the town of Lincoln Nebraska with a sawed off .410 on my lap
Through to the badlands of Wyoming I killed everything in my path

I can't say that I'm sorry for the things that we done
At least for a little while sir me and her we had us some fun

The jury brought in a guilty verdict and the judge he sentenced me to death
Midnight in a prison storeroom with leather straps across my chest

Sheriff when the man pulls that switch sir and snaps my poor head back
You make sure my pretty baby is sittin' right there on my lap

They declared me unfit to live said into that great void my soul'd be hurled
They wanted to know why I did what I did
Well sir I guess there's just a meanness in this world
