Good Friday Morning, Everybody!
:donut::hi:
TGIF!! :bounce: Here we are at the start of another weekend, Folks! I hope you have some big activities planned and I hope you'll have a lot of fun! For those of you who have to work all weekend, I feel your pain, let me just say. We who work in retail and are there to help and serve, salute you!

1. Hiya, friend!
:hug:

I share your joy that it's the end of the week. I _loathe_ shopping, and I had to do it twice this week. Do you have the weekend off? :hug: :loveya:

:bounce::hug:
It's SO good to see you today! No, I have to work this weekend. x( But that's the life of a retail manager. It's OK.

I'm sorry you don't like to shop...and have had to twice. I rather like to go shopping myself. Especially at places like Best Buy and Circuit City because, you know, toys EVERYWHERE! :rofl:

7. three to four hours
most times I take the car but this weekend I don't feel like driving myself. So I take the train. I can read and nap :)

I leave 3.50pm here in Frankfurt and will be at the final statin at 7.25pm. But I have to switch trains twice, so the waiting time counts in also.

9. I wish we had trains we could take like that.
I would use them all the time. We don't believe in using trains here in the USA. Everybody has to have their own car, you see. If we had a high speed rail like every other civilized nation, we'd be much better off in my opinion!

23. what felt strange to me
was that the passengers aren't allowed to the tracks before the train is in the station. Then you have to hand over your luggage before even getting to the tracks. Next you get a nmber for a seat even if you haven't reserved one.
I took a night train, which might have been a mistake because I didn't see much :eyes:

What I think we need here is a completely new rail company that goes to every city in the US and is committed to service and speed. It won't ever happen, but I can dream, damn it! :rofl:

25. I have to admit that the German train system
isn't perfect either. And it is fucking expensive. But they give you an option that you can buy a so called Bahncard (traincard) for €200/year. Then you only pay half the price for the tickets for that year. It is worth buying the Bahncard when you take the train a lot.

28. It is expensive
€200 = $240

but as I said, you only pay half the ticket price for one year. So now I "only" pay €64 ($77) for a two way trip instead of €128 ($154). Doing the trip twice or three times and you have the €200 for the Bahncard back

Most of my finals will be fine, but this Historical Linguistics one I told you about is going to be murder. Luckily, he informed us yesterday that it will be an essay test, which I'm much better at.

19. Good news twice!
Tell your BF it is going to feel a little weird the first couple of nights he wears it. After that, it becomes second nature and he won't have any more trouble with it.

If you're better at essay tests, then that is good the H.L. final will be in that form! Did you have any luck in the study group, or was everyone else adrift like you?

27. Well, once he told us the format of the test, we had to change our
plans a bit. All we did was go through and pick the most likely topics to be on the test. Then this weekend we're each going to work on our essays individually and compare after class on Tuesday. Then all I have to do is rewrite accordingly and memorize as much of it as possible for the actual test itself. *sigh* It's been awhile since I had a class that required me to think. LOL!

And the BF says he used to wear a mouth guard when he played sports in HS so he's already used to it. :eyes: Must be macho at all times.

No, he's not that bad, but I like to make fun of him. :D

It is still going to feel strange to him to go to bed with one in his mouth, regardless whether he's worn one in the past or not. One piece of advice for YOU though...don't laugh at him when you see him wearing it for the first time. I was self conscious as hells the first few times I wore it. 58. Well
If small stores like yours could hang in there through the tough times, and accept a loss in profits in the short run, then in the long run when the Walmart type stores DO go down, the small stores will be all thats left. They'll be able to pick up all the business that Walmart used to do.

51. Well, yesterday was such a waste.
I spent the entire morning trying to get my DSL hooked up. It worked for one computer, but I had to call for help getting it hooked up to the router (it has to be changed to bridge mode or something like that). I was on the phone all morning and couldn't even get it back to working with one computer. Tech "help" is useless -- they always blame it on the computer or router. So now I'm back on the cable until my husband can look at it. I just love the idea of paying for two services at once, don't you?

This might be a good day to keep cleaning out and shredding papers. :evilgrin:

Are you working today?
